Thank you for wishing me a happy
birthday this week! I had such a great week, and one of the best
birthdays of my life! Mission birthdays are truly the greatest. It
started on Tuesday
for our District meeting. The zone leaders, Elder Monilla and Elder
Larson got me a giant birthday card and had everyone in our zone sign
it. They surprised me afterwards and sang to me. It was the coolest
thing! My actual birthday started with a call from President and Sister
Rahlf. Called during my personal study and they sang happy birthday to
me. The STLs in Cauayan also called wot wish me a happy birthday. It was
so great. Sister Sutherby planned my "Birthday Party." We invited a few
of the missionaries in our zone for over for lunch. Sister Sutherby
made spaghetti and we also had a chocolate cake and cookie dough ice
cream. Masarap! Later in the evening, Sister Esguerra, my companion,
made a delicious Filipino dish, also in honor of my special day. It was
so cool because we had a bunch of teaching appointments and EVERYONE
remembered my birthday. Even people who I didn't tell that it was my
birthday! It was pretty neat.
Another thing that was cool is
that July 3rd is also "Araw ng Roxas," or in English, Roxas Day.
EVERYONE IN ROXAS WAS CELEBRATING ON MY BIRTHDAY! It was so neat! They
set up a bunch of decorations and things all around city hall and there
was tons of people. The only thing that I missed this year was the sound
of fireworks, but it was still a lot of fun.
This morning
for our zone activity, we went to Magat Dam. It is a really pretty dam
and we got tons of pictures! We even got to take a boat ride tour of the
dam. It has been a great morning. I have so many friends here in Roxas
Zone! We have a lot of fun here!
This week has been really
great with our work too. Our investigator, Nanay Angelina is going to be
baptized next week. She is so prepared to be baptized. We got good news
and bad news this week for Nay. What is good is that her baptism will
continue as planned. The bad news is that her grandson has been really
sick and has been diagnosed with tuberculosis. Please pray for him. His
name is Jason.
We also extended the baptismal commitment to
one of our most promising progressing investigators named April. She is a
little shy and doesn't know if she wants to be baptized yet, but we are
hopeful for her. We will continue to teach her and help her gain a
testimony. We also have four new investigators this week. All of whom
are very excited to hear more about our church. Roxas Zone is amazing.
We have so many people here to teach! There is so much potential here! I
am really excited to see how I can built this new area!
