For Zone Meeting, we taught about the importance of having a vision. Proverbs 29:18 states that:
"Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.
In
what ever we undertake to do, we must have a vision. We must seek to
have a plan for our lives and envision success. If we do not, we won't
reach our full potential. Not only do we need a vision, but we also need
a plan to carry out that vision. We need to be diligent and hardworking
in following out that plan. How many of us have started our new years
resolutions and started strong, only to find that we have quit by the
time summer hits? I think we all have been there. As a missionary, not
only do we need a vision for ourselves, but also the people we meet. If
we don't have a vision for them, we won't treat them as we should treat
them; as children of God. Heavenly Father has a vision for each one of
His children, and we are the ones to help them realize that! It is such a
blessing as a missionary. Some times we walk past people and judge them
and say "this isn't for them." But the Gospel of Jesus Christ is for
everybody! The Lord has high hopes for each and every one of them. I
encourage all of you to find a vision for yourself. Where do you see
yourself in five, ten years? What are the changes you want to make to
help you reach your full potential? I read a talk from President Dieter
F. Uchtdorf who quoted an old proverb: "The best time to plant a tree
was twenty years ago. The second best time is now." Plant the trees now
and you will certainly see results. If you wait twenty years to plant
the tree you will never see it's fruits. I know that it is so important
to have a vision. We must always be anxiously engaged in a good cause. I
